• Jeff Plate of Trans-Siberian Orchestra

  The holidays are rapidly approaching. That means 2 things… My coal stockpile is about to be refilled, and Trans-Siberian Orchestra is rolling into Albany. I recently got to chat with Jeff Plate (On the phone too) Drummer and original member of TSO.  They are coming to town Thursday December 17th to the MVP Arena. Tickets go on sale Friday September 18th.

• Plush set to release new record

  Plush has launched a nationwide tour ahead of their new album “Mass Hysteria”, due out September 18th. I recently sat down with the women of Plush to talk about their rise, what they’ve learned along the way, and what lies ahead for the band with deep Capital Region roots.

  There are just as many good bands that you don’t know about, verses the artists that are mainstream. They may exist right here in your backyard, no matter what state, country or universe you live in, they are there. These bands work hard, write music, record and play live. Independent musicians have always followed the DIY ethic, some succeed while others struggle.
